About project
One of the goals of the European Capital of Culture 2028 is to make culture in České Budějovice open, diverse, and accessible to everyone. As part of the city-wide cultural celebration SOUTOK, we have come together and decided to take a first collective step towards greater accessibility.
This year, we aim to make specific artworks more approachable for those who might not ordinarily notice them – for example, due to visual impairments – but who should still have the opportunity to encounter them. We are therefore offering descriptions of the installed sculptures to help bring them closer to all visitors.
You’ll find a list of these artworks below, with descriptions available after clicking. They will also be accessible on-site via QR codes next to each piece, in both Czech and English. For many of the works, the experience described can be enhanced through touch.
Our aim is to make the experience sensorially accessible to everyone. We warmly invite all who wish to explore this unique installation of extraordinary artworks to enjoy it through whichever sensory path suits them best.
You are also invited to join a guided walk with live audio descriptions on Friday, June 27 at 4 PM, starting at the Rabenštejnská Cultural Center.
